Positioned on top of a prominent hill side between Lake Trasimeno and the Medieval town of Citta della Pieve the apartment Frateria Antica is part of an ancient stone-house built in the 16th century; it was once the headquarters of a small community of friars taking care of the land belonging to the main convent in town. It was rearranged several times during the centuries, and recently it has been thoroughly restored. Its peculiar setting, that enjoys a 360 degree view of rare beauty over the countryside, and the accurate use of materials and furnishings chosen in respect of the original structure, make this place unique.
The house is split into two apartments, sharing the scenic entrance gate, driveway and the swimming pool; the current owner dwells the other apartment. Frateria Antica is free on 3 sides and is surrounded by a large private garden, kept as a lawn. An outside table and chairs are available for guests use. There's a beautiful well covered by a large pergola providing fresh shade during hot Summer days. A scenery gravel path leads through the olive groves to a a splendid pool with ample solarium. The apartment lies on 2 levels: ground floor and first floor. The main entrance is from the living room on the ground floor, connected to the kitchen/dining area via a bricked arch; both the living and the kitchen have large arched French doors opening to the garden.
The sleeping area on the ground floor comprises 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Internal stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find the master bedroom, a study/smaller bedroom and antoher bathroom. Frateria Antica is impeccably finished and furnished; it features hand made cotto floors, timber beamed ceilings and quality bathrooms. All the services are hooked up and perfectly working, including Satellite TV. The property is set in a splendid area, surrounded by orchards, olive groves and arable fields, and boasting a great view over the towers of Citta della Pieve and the gently sloping hills until Lake Trasimeno.

Saturdays arrival as of 4 PM, departure latest 10 AM.

SURROUNDINGS
Citta della Pieve is only 4 km away where the Lake Trasimeno is a 25 km drive. Other intresting towns are Paciano (18 km) and Panicale (13 km).
Citta della Pieve has a large offering of (fresh food) shops, bars and restaurants, pharmacy, gas stations, churches as well as a weekly partly open air (fresh) market on Saturday morning.

Ideal for long walks directly from the property. Beach and water sport facilities at the nearby Lake Trasimeno (25 km). Golf courses are near Panicarola (16 km) at Golf Course Lamborghini (9 holes) and in Ellera Umbra (28 km) at Golf Club Perugia (18 holes).
Special activities
Citta della Pieve is well known for its very active social-cultural life. The local tourist shop offers all information. Maybe not at the same scale as the one in Siena, but definitely not to miss is the annual Palio in August where all three quarters battle for the honour during two weeks. Many festive acitivities in the evenings among which excellent Medieval open air restaurants.

World famous Umbria Jazz (July) and Eurochocolate (October) in Perugia. Well known Palio dei Terzieri in Citta della Pieve (mid August).

Nearest airports are Umbria International Airport Sant'Egidio near Perugia (53 km), Rome Fiumicino (185 km) and Ciampino (170 km) International Airports and Florence International Airport (155 km); nearest A1 Motorway exit is at Chiusi (14 km) for Florence and Rome; international train station of Chiusi (10 km) also hosts car rentals.
